1- Black dots (cadaverous hair) pigmented dark residues of hair shafts that fractured at scalp level..correlates with the disease activity.
2-Exclamation mark hairs. hairs with pointed thick distal end and thin proximal end due to perifollicular inflammation..correlates with activity.
3- Broken hairs. hair shafts that fractured at the thin weak parts of the shafts.
4- Normal terminal hair shafts.
